Amazon Swords The leaves are a vibrant green, often transitioning from light to medium green shades as they grow. The plant features a pinnate venation, with clearly visible veins running along the length of the leaf, branching out from the central vein. The leaves are lanceolate (lance-shaped), being long and tapering towards both the base and the tip. They have smooth edges with a slightly wavy appearance, adding to their aesthetic appeal. This species is native to the Amazon River Basin in South America.
Their presence creates a serene and balanced environment, transforming the aquarium into a miniature haven of aquatic life. Amazon Swords typically reach a size of 20 to 50 cm (8 to 20 inches) in height, making them suitable as a centrepiece or background plant in larger aquariums. They thrive in a temperature range of 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F) and a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5.
